Hubei’s heritage introduction dates the Gulongzhong archway in Xiangyang to 1893.
Documented place and context#
The cultural tourism department attributes the archway to Cheng Wenbing in the nineteenth year of the Guangxu reign. This commemorative structure is much later than the Three Kingdoms period associated with Zhuge Liang. A later monument can commemorate a historical tradition without being an original building from that tradition’s period.
Planning your visit#
Choose a structure or inscription and read its own construction history. Keep the date of the commemorative building separate from the date of the person or story it honors. Do not invent a private conversation or treat a later novel scene as an archaeological observation. Check the site’s present access information before planning a visit.
Scope#
This focused introduction is not a full city itinerary or a first-person visit report. The planning questions are editorial. Current prices, opening hours, daily programmes and fixed journey times are not asserted. Confirm arrangements with the named institution or operator.
