Quanzhou’s World Heritage inscription concerns a network associated with Song and Yuan maritime trade.

What the heritage record establishes#

UNESCO describes religious sites, docks, bridges, production sites and administrative remains. These different components help explain links between commerce, transport, production and religious communities. The inscription is a serial property, not a claim that every component is within one small visitor enclosure.

Planning your visit#

Select a theme before choosing stops: port infrastructure, production or religious buildings. For each component, record what survives and how its documented role relates to trade. Check access separately for your selected sites. Do not infer that a historic religious building offers unrestricted tourist access during every activity.
