Ming Xiaoling in Nanjing is the mausoleum of the Ming founder Zhu Yuanzhang and Empress Ma.
Heritage context#
Nanjing’s July 2025 introduction locates the mausoleum at Zhongshan Mountain and records its addition to the World Heritage List in 2003. This is a specific mausoleum within the wider Ming–Qing imperial tombs property, not a World Heritage designation for every attraction on the mountain.
Planning your visit#
Choose the mausoleum and the particular approach you want to understand before combining it with other stops. At the site, distinguish a ceremonial approach, surviving architecture and later interpretation. Check the exact ticket scope and any local transfer separately. A neighboring attraction’s advertised opening time or admission rule is not automatically the mausoleum’s rule.
Scope#
This is a focused heritage-planning introduction, not a complete city itinerary or a personal visit report. The planning questions are editorial suggestions. Current prices, fixed journey times, restaurant certification and daily programmes are not asserted; check the named operator’s current visitor information.
