Meshrep is a Uyghur gathering tradition incorporating performing arts and social practices.
Documented context#
UNESCO describes music, dance, drama, oral literature, foodways and games within Meshrep. It was inscribed on the Urgent Safeguarding List in 2010. That record does not establish one nationwide annual festival date.
Planning a visit#
Look for a specific gathering or programme, its organizer and its date. Do not reuse a generic September date as an annual rule. An invitation or current event announcement is needed to establish what visitors may attend; the heritage listing itself is not a booking or access notice.
Scope of this introduction#
This is a brief cultural introduction. Practical questions above are editorial planning suggestions, not a current event programme or a claim of uniform participation.
